Rio Grande Valley
The Rio Grande Valley Section of IEEE was establish in 2010 .  It includes members  from Rio Grand
City to Brownsville

There are approximately 17 members from various engineering fields ranging from professors,
consultants, power plant engineers and technicians..  The Section holds meetings once a month at
the Denny's Restaurant in Weslaco.  Most meetings are scheduled on the fourth Thursday.  We
welcome you to join us for dinner. Hope to see you there.
IEEE Short Course
Real Power Control in Electrical Power Systems
28 January
Texas Univ Of-Pan American
Salvador Acha Daza, Ph. D.
Senior Member IEEE, Distinguished Power Lecturer
Goals:
To present and study real power transfer models and controls, as well as optimal techniques on how
to coordinate their actions and solve congestion problems.
To study and build a framework of dynamic analysis to balance power generation, load requirements
and frequency control.
We are pleased to announce our first IEEE short course.t is aimed to MEP Consultants, practicing
utility engineers, school district facility supervisors, tehcnicians as well as students, interested in
attaining concepts involved when real power flows and balance in steady state and dynamic
frequency control are required in an electrical power system.
